Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you need a Google Analytics checker?

To make sure that all your website pages have the installed tracking code. Not having a tracking code everywhere means that your reporting will be inaccurate, and you will miss relevant data. It will find any analytics.js, ga.js, or Google Tag Manager integration scripts. Checker will also try to look up any Google Ads (former Adwords), Google Adsense, Hotjar, and Matomo tracking codes.

Is it accurate?

The tool will check the presence of tracking scripts. But it will not trigger the actual page view or load those scripts, so as not to distort your data. While this method works nine times out of ten, there might be some specific cases where it fails to detect tracking scripts problems. If you notice this case, please report it to support@statsglitch.com, and we'll make sure to add additional logic for the checker.

How long does it take?

Because the tool is free, we place your request in a queue for further processing. You'll see how many people are above you and the estimated time after you confirm your email. Usually, it takes a few minutes if you request a small number of pages and up to a few hours for big requests that crawl thousands of pages.

Why is it free?

StatsGlitch core business offers a more sophisticated Google Analytics tracker, which has paid plans, and this tool is fundamental as it only checks the presence of GA script. As the core product covers all of the tool costs, we can provide this tool as a free service with no catch. If you want to thank us, consider checking Google Analytics alerts and checking the "promotional emails" agreement checkbox.

Will it trigger the tracking code?

No, the tool only checks the presence of tracking codes. It does not load them or any other javascript code in your website, and it does not add any cookies. However, you might see the requests performed by it on any server-side analytics/logging tools. It will also have a user agent identifying itself.

Can you see my analytics data?

No, this specific tool does not ask any permissions to your analytics data or Google account, so won't be able to see your numbers. It's a standalone crawler that will check the presence of an analytics tracking code imitating the browser.

What if I need a custom Google Analytics checker?

If you need a more advanced GA checker or monitoring solution, consider using our main product, Google Analytics alerts. It has traffic, events, goals, and any other metric monitoring, as well as real-time, daily, and weekly alerts and reports.

What should I do if I find an error?
